Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who owns Nevada State Bookstore?
A: Nevada State Bookstore is a self-supported retail operation owned by Nevada State College. The bookstore first opened in May of 2004, and is located within the Great Hall of the Dawson building of our main campus.

Q: When is the best time to purchase my textbooks?
A: Textbooks generally become available online two - three weeks before courses start. Textbooks available in the store before that time will be announced on the Bookstore Annoucement board and through WebCampus. We strongly recommend that you attend classes before purchasing any textbooks in order to ensure that you only purchase what you really need. Please be advised that we are unable to ship to PO boxes.

Q: What happens if I purchase the wrong textbook, drop a course, or the class is cancelled?
A: Please refer to the return policy for this information.

Q: I am unable to purchase texts during Nevada State Bookstore hours. Can I still purchase my textbooks from the bookstore?
A: Students who are unable to come to the Bookstore during our hours of operation can shop online through our website. If a textbook shows that it is unavailable, be sure to email us at Bookstore@nsc.nevada.edu and we will order more.

Q: How is Nevada State Bookstore expanding its goods and services?
A: Nevada State Bookstore implemented a Point-of Sale system in July 2007 at both store locations, and in January 2008 we implemented a new website with online textbook purchasing. We are currently working on launching online general merchandise ordering and online Buyback price inquiries. For your convenience, the Bookstore is also setting up school supply vending machine in the LAS building for necessary purchases outside of normal business hours.
